Circular Polarizer

When i use my wide angle lens say at a 16mm setting, I notice that my circular polarizer does not work as well. Take this photo for example:

Notice how in the center of the picture the sky is a deeper blue than at the edges. Would a liner polarizer work better to get even coverage? Are there any circular polarizer's that work well with wide angle lenses such as the 16-35 Canon lens?

The polarization effect is highly dependent on the direction of the sunlight. With a wide angle lens, the direction of the sunlight varies greatly for different parts of the image, so the polarizing effect varies greatly also, as you have observed. There is nothing that can be done about this; just be aware of this and adjust your shooting/use of the polarizing filter accordingly.
