choosing a printer

I am trying to pick a printer for my home computer. Do any of you have suggestions as to a good printer to choose? I was looking at the Canon PIXMA 500 and the Epson Stylus RX620 (it can print from negatives). I am new to this so I was hoping all of you could help. Thanks so much. <!--color-->

The way I read the manufacturer's specs, the 620 will SCAN negatives, not neccessarily PRINT from negatives. Direct printing is usually done through the media card or from cameras that are Pict Bridge or PIM enabled. Better double check with Epson, if you want to print direct from the negs w/o a computer.
Better safe than sorry.

The above seems to be a placemnt for a vendor, not something we allow on this Forum. I am leaving this up for a day or two to notify "yue" and to discourage use such as this. I will remove the above post in a day or two.

I agree with George... You should make Registration mandatory to leave a post. There is enough info in this forum alone to know what kind of printer to buy. And if you are as green about printing as it sounds then the least exspensive Epson printer will blow your socks off, since you really will not know what to look for anyway.
