Last Saturday I dug out my Canon t70 and put a couple of fresh double A's in it and it fired right up. I then started paging through the manual and came across a mention of the internal battery that says they last about five years. Mine is still the original battery and I am thinking I should have it replaced. Anyone with experience with this camera know where the battery is located and if it is something I can replace or do I need to take it to a shop? Do they even still make the battery? The led display is working fine but, as I have researched the camera it seems that it can also go bad and apparently are no longer available from Canon. I really like the camera and since I know how to operate it and I have about six different lenses I do not want to invest in a new system.
I have noticed that t70 bodies are fairly cheap on the net and ebay and was wondering if it would be a good idea to pick a decent one up for parts? The only problem with that of course is that they are just as old as mine.
