Canon EOS 5D Mk. II Sensor Cleaning

David, can you recommend a sensor cleaning product for my EOS 5D Mk. II? It's a great camera, but a bit of a dust magnet. I've used all the camera's automatic dust removal protocols several times with no effect, and attempted manual cleaning with a rocket blower with little success. Canon's standard recommendation is to take the camera to a Canon authorized service center, but there are none in Tennessee that I can find.

I also know about the dust data system in Digital Photo Pro, but it requires converting the file to TIFF or JPEG, which I do not want to do before doing initial editing in Adobe Camera Raw.

Can you recommend one of the many brush and/or fluid cleaning system options on the market, one that' both safe and effective? If all else fails, I'll just continue doing dust removal with the spot healing brush in Photoshop.

Sorry I found self cleaning was not successful myself, even following the advise of a photography company that covers off-road racing. So I sent my 5D to Canon and their shop did a great job.

The support section of the Canon web site has the locations of their own Canon run service locations, as well as the private 3rd party authorized service locations. I prefer Canon's after many, many years of experience in the film days. I made an arrangement to get my 5D cleaned and tuned up with the latest firmware on the web site. Sent the camera by Fedex to them and it was back to me within the same week.

To me it was well worth it.

But since, I sold my entire dSLR system recently, and am now into a Sigma DP1s camera, and may add a DP2. Doesn't cost as much as a good "L" lens, and I am liking a camera that fits in my shirt pocket.

Thanks, David. I guess sending it in is the best option. All I have to do is quit using it long enough to do that...
