Canon EOS 20D Problems Uploading

Hi, Im using a Canon EOS 20D camera. Im not very used to it yet as I have just received it as a graduation gift and am planning to take photography in future schooling. I am using a Windows 98 computer and it does not read the pictures on my camera when I try to upload. The computer reads that the correct camera is connected just not the pictures. Can anyone tell me what Im doing wrong or if there is something else I should be doing? I understand the computer may be a little older but is there settings somewhere that I can change??

Hi Ashley,
The first thing I would do would be to upgrade to Windows Xp since Microsoft is ho longer supporting W 98.If you are unable to do that, then install the software that came with your camera, unless it doesn't support W 98.

Do you have a USB port? If so, then get a W98 compatable card reader with the required software for W 98. Then you can insert your card into the card reader and it should be able to read the reader/card as if it were a drive.

You can then Copy/Paste the card reader's contents into a
folder which you will have to create on your hard drive.
