Is the 30D a "better" camera? I've read the reviews of both and get the feeling that theXTi has many of the best features of the 30D, other than frames per second. I've had the XT 6MB since it came out and I'm ready to upgrade. One of the things I want is speed. Don't want to "loose the moment". Thanks in advance for any info or advice.
If by speed you mean frames per second than you want the 30D. The XTi does 3fps just like the xt - the 30D will do 5fps. I have both camera's and much prefer the 30D. It feels better in my hands and the controls are easier to use.
I was faced with this same decision and I've been thrilled with the 30D.
Good Luck
I was in the same boat but I finally bought the 30D (20th Anniversary Edition Kit) and I'm glad I did it.
Although the XTI is a great camera, I never considered one after owning the XT for a brief period. I now have a 30D. It took several steps to go from say 200 ISO to 800 ISO. With the 30D its a flick of the thumb.
Although the XTI is 10MP, the image quality on the 30D is slightly better.
The XTI has some handy features the 30D does not have, but for ease of use the 30D wins out.
Thanks for the feedback. Sorry to be slow replying. Could you tell me a little more about what you find are the differences between the 30D and the XTi that make you prefer the 30D? Does the extra weight bother you? Barry
Can you coment on the things that persuaded you to go with the 30D and the things you think you like about it over the XTi? Thank you.
you might as wait for the 40D to come out now

Is the XTi's interface different from the XTs? On my XT, I can tap one of the arrows on the directional thing on the back of the camera and the ISO menu pops right up.
