Canon 30D or 1Ds Mark III ?

My money is on canon surprising every one at the big show this month with the digc 3 processor and it will be introduced in the 1Ds first then in the 30D in mid summer

OK, I'll wager with you that its not a digc 3 - I say it will be a Digic III <-- like that ...and it will be in a horrible one-size-supposed-to-fit-all camera that looks like a 1Ds ...crossed with a lobster! ...with a horrible little ISO 9000 spec switch that flips between FF and 1.3 crop factor. heck, give us 1.6x too for old Rebel users ZD save us!

17 - 85mm ef-s lens or 18 - 200mm lens

hello...this is my first time on the forum...
will appreciate help on making a choice on either the canon 17-85mm efs ls len or the 18-200mm len...i will be shooting mostly weddings and will like a len that can give me great quality pictures and a peace of mind without breaking the bank....intend buying a 20D and 580ex flashgun...

NOPE It is the 30D.... Canon relesed it today... not enough of a upgrade for me to get one yet I will stick with the 20D for now and see what they relese this fall

So, you're saying that there will be more updates this fall? I was hoping to buy a new Canon in April, guess it'll be the 30D, but I sure would like to have a 5D.

Well,I see the prices of the 20D is starting to really drop,will the difference in price of the 20D and 30D be enough to settle for the 20D instead of spending the extra bucks for the newer model? I think I'd rather spring for the newer model.

I am not planing on buying a new camera untill feb 2007 when I open my studio, till then the 20D and film will have to do
