black box

I've been scouring your website looking for something that I can describe, but don't know its official name.

What I'm looking for is a "black box" with non-reflective inner surfaces. What I want to be able to do is to place small items (flowers, vegetables, rocks, etc.) inside this box and be able to shoot photographs that have no background. Having a light source in the box or that can be moved around the box would be helpful.

Do you such accessories exist? What's it called? As you can tell, I'm not a pro, but I have this fascination for taking closeup shots with no confusing background to get rid of.

If you can help, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I think using a box with a black interior would greatly restrict your ability to light your subject, limiting the illumination angle to that which comes from the same direction as your camera.

Actually a seamless black background is fairly easy to achieve. A length of black velvet cloth material works pretty well. And companies that make seamless background paper also make seamless paper coated with black flocking that works quite well, and is cheaper than velvet cloth and does the same thing for a background. You might look up Studio Specialties on the web and probably the company will catalogue what I have described.
