Best way to acquire enlarger?

Hey, I'm wondering what the best way to acqure an inexpensive, well-maintained enlarger would be, whether it be new, ebay, photo stores, ive also heard you can get them cheap from the gov...

A lot depends on what size negative/tranparencies you are going to be using. If you are planning on eventually using large format film (4 x 5) then I would check out the larger photo shops such as B & H in NY or Midwest in Columbus Ohio.

Used enlarger prices have dropped like a rock in the last few years.
There are some real bargains out there.
