I joined Shutterbug today. I would consider myself to be a serious amateur/hobbist. The camera that I am currently shooting with is a Nikon D40 SLR. I am looking to upgrade to a Nikon D300 someday. I also have a Nikon Coolpix S600 which I have found to be a nice point and shoot camera. I haven't had the opportunity to shoot with a Canon camera yet, but one day I hope to do so.
A lot of what I have learned about photography has been through trial and error, reading as much information about photography as possible, and from a Nikon workshop that I attended in May of 2008. While I feel that I have learned a quite a bit on my own, I would like to recieve some hands-on professional guidance and training. So, I have been looking into two different photography programs: The New York Institute of Photography and BetterPhoto.com. I have read the information provided in the brochures and/or on the websites. I would like to hear some feedback from anyone who may have participated in either one of these programs. If there is another program that you would recommend, please let me know.
