Has anyone experience using zinc- air #675 hearing aid batteries as a replacement for the mercury cell batteries in an SRT 101s' metering system?
I haven't put a battery in either of my SRTs in almost 20 years; but I meter with a handheld meter, even with my Maxxums. A simple, inexpensive selenium cell meter should be all you need. They can be found for $10-15 on the used market.
it uses a 625a any drug store has it!
vintagebatteries.com has your battery. It's a 1.35V mercury free cell. Fits perfect, no mods to camera needed. They ship free.
By the way, it's zink/air type #MRB625. Replaces the PX625 and PX13.
with a simple mod you can convert the srt101 to take silver hearing aid batteries...it can be difficult to find the old mercury batteries
I had a CLA done to my SRT-101 & had it adjusted for a 1.5 volt. The only problem with that is the battery will lose voltage & might give the wrong reading.
