Auto Focus vs Manual

Hi there , I have being playing with my new toy D 200 (just learning photography) Should I use the auto focus or manual ??? What is the difference ??? Wich is your favorite Mode ??

I suggest trying both to understand how the camera works. Too much photography is dependent on cameras instead of photographers making decisions. Normally auto focus chooses the closest object within the focus range of the lens but the D200 has five (I think) zones you can choose within the image for the camera to focus at. That's how you would use autofocus on off center subjects.
