Becoming more involved in shows for selling prints now. I find there is a grey area between art, fine art photography and just taking pictures to sell. Getting into the last show I was in you had to classify as an art. My BW sneaked in as fine art. abstract art in photography found its place there also, but many who altered images in other ways such as placing odd things in real life scenes were rejected. Color phtographers did not get in.
So what determines art in the photography world. Graphic artist, painters are even put in different classes depending on what they do. To me self expression through what you do finds its own place there but not true in the eyes of judges. I see many here such as Larry and others who have found their own individual form of expression. It is a signature that defines their work. Now that is Art.
