I've been using (and learning) my D300 DSLR camera. My question is based on some interest in 35mm photography, and the opportunity to enter the market with a reasonably priced Nikon 35mm camera (used).
I'd like to know if the settings (f-stop/speed/ISO) are universal.
There are some shots (especially landscapes/sunsets) which I believe would look really great on film, but don't want to process rolls upon rolls to be disappointed with the results. My idea? Take the D300, capture a few images until my settings are exactly what they need to be to produce the best image (that I'm capable of), then match all of the settings (minus the film ISO, which will be selected beforehand) and snap the film photo.
Will the settings (shutter speed/aperture) translate from the digital to the film camera, or am I simply dreaming of the impossible?
