Am I able to take images from outside of aeroplane thru it's window?
Usually I choose a seat near to a window in order to see outside.
Sometimes I see lots of nice clouds and love to take image of them, but not sure if I can use my compact digi camera or not?
Do you have any info about it?
please help me. thanks
Well, it's possible, but I don't think you'll get high quality images. You'd be shooting through two panes of plexiglass, both of which will reflect light from inside the plane. Also, I seem to remember that the windows are polarized (I could be wrong about that). Even so, I'd say go for it. You certainly have nothing to lose. Any image that captures a memory is worth trying for.....
Hi,
When I was searching through amazon.com to find some good photography books, I came across one by Julieanne Kost that is all about shooting through airplane windows. (I didn't buy it.) So if you do an internet search for her or "photography through airplane window" you'll find lots of interesting sites on the topic. One mentions that you may have to play with the colour and saturation in your 'digital darkroom' but it's very interesting!
I'll be experimenting on my flights to/from Iceland & Greenland this summer!
Yes, but the results may not be the highest quality. You need to use as wide a lens as possible and put the front of the lens hood right up against the glass to aviod reflections. Shutter speed should be fast enough to counter vibration.
Here's a color infrared image I shot with a 2 megapixel camera:
