Adobe is offering tryouts of their software. CS 2 download less than 20 minutes with my slow DSL, much less than the predicted time. 30 days fully functional.

Well, CS 2 is expensive, although not bad if you are just paying for an upgrade from a previous full version of Photoshop. (The upgrade is not available for Elements owners.)
A free tryout is worthwhile to decide if you need CS2. I think most photo enthusiasts would do very nicely with Elements 3.0 as David Brooks has mentioned.
