Since October 2001 I have used a Minolta Dimage7. It is an absolute battery hog, so I typically use an AC adaptor when shooting indoors and have a nearby outlet. Earlier this week, however, I ordered an EOS 20D and should have it tomorrow (5/20), but now I'm wondering if I should buy an AC adaptor for it also. I know Canon rates the 20D's battery as being good for 400-700 shots, but I'm wondering if this is accurate or marketing hype. I'd rather not have to continue using an adaptor but will if the battery runs down frequently.
20D owners/users: what would you estimate your typical battery life to be for the type of shooting you do and the way you have your camera set up?
(Most of my photo shoots are indoor "studio" shots of scale models. I normally [with my Dimage7] shoot 5mp jpgs or tiffs for publication.)
Thanks for any input or insights.
