Even though I've settled on a local store (Art's Cameras Plus, in the Milwaukee area), B&H, and KEH, I should note a positive experience with Abes of Maine (actually Brooklyn). The transaction was complicated by the fact that I realized while the camera was en route that I needed to switch to another model, so I ended up returning almost all in the box - keeping the memory card - and getting the new one shipped. (I'd wanted to have a take-everywhere little camera and replaced a too-noisy Kodak with a Canon PowerShot S80.) This part of the transaction was very well handled. Later, I needed to reconcile the credit card statements (which were naturally confusing) with receipts, and at two separate stages I needed to contact them for a copy. (I guess I shipped the original back in the first box.) Lisa of Customer Service took care of this promptly in both cases. Thought they should get some credit for this.
