when using the 580 ex flash on my digital rebel my pics come out dark any suggestions on this thanks!and is their agood lens 500mm to 1000mm for digital rebel for outdoor shots?

Not sure about the flash. I have been considering buying it in a week or two. Canon has some far reaching lenses out to 1200mm in the "L" series. Pricey but worth every penny.
