how new are you to photography period? Its not a polaroid... roll film is no different than larger format or 35mm film wether negative or chrome? I assume that since you have a medium format rig youve been around photography some before making that purchase, but maybe Im wrong...

After you shoot the slide film, be sure and have it processed *before* exposing it to light. (In other words, treat it like a negative.) With roll film, you will have to tape up the roll after it is shot (unlike 35mm, where the film is rewound into a cartidge.)

I shoot MF slide film (Fuji Velvia and Provia being my faves.) Unlike 35mm, I do *not* have the slides mounted (I scan them myself), and there are some differences between shooting slide and print film (the dynamic range and exposure latitude of slide film is narrower, and you expose for the highlights as you do for digital.)

At the same time, I find that it is difficult to beat the look of a strip of transparencies on a light table.

I always shot Fuji Velvia both in 35mm and medium format. The nice thing about 35mm was the mounted slides where medium format was not mounted. Exposure range is tight on slide film vs print film. I used to bracket 35mm slide film in 1/3 stops but medium format was more expensive so I did not waste any film. slide film has very satuated color and is wonderful for flowers and varied color backgrounds.
